Where it came from
Released in 2003 as part of the Skyridge expansion, the Fisherman card represents the final set of the e-Card Series for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. This set was notable for its integration with the Nintendo e-Reader, a peripheral that allowed players to scan dot-code strips on the cards to unlock mini-games, Pokédex data, and additional features on the Game Boy Advance.
The artwork for this Trainer card reflects the distinct visual direction of the e-Card era, characterized by a more refined and illustrative style compared to earlier sets. As a Trainer card, Fisherman serves a specific mechanical purpose within the game, allowing players to retrieve Basic Energy cards from their discard pile, a utility that mirrored the character's role in the series as a specialized NPC trainer.
