Provenance

Where it came from

Giacomo is an ultra-rare trainer card featured in the Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion titled Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions. Released to celebrate the deep lore of the Paldea region, the card depicts the character Giacomo, the leader of Team Star’s Dark Crew, known for his rebellious spirit and musical background. The design emphasizes his signature aesthetic, utilizing the unique holographic patterns synonymous with the Ultra Rare tier of this specific set to capture his gritty, neon-infused style.

The card was illustrated by long-time Pokémon contributor Megumi Mizutani, who has established a reputation for character-focused compositions within the franchise. Mizutani’s intent was to highlight Giacomo's role as a former student who prioritizes his found family over traditional academic constraints. The illustration was received positively by the community for its expressive linework and the way it successfully translates his in-game personality into a collectible physical format.
