Magnezone-EX

Magnezone-EX was released in May 2014 as part of the Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion titled Flashfire. This set was notable for its heavy focus on Fire-type Pokémon, centering on the legendary Charizard, which made the inclusion of this metallic, Electric-type card a striking contrast. Magnezone-EX was introduced during the XY series era, a period defined by the introduction of the Fairy type and the powerful EX mechanic, which allowed for stronger stats at the risk of granting the opponent two prize cards upon defeat.

The card features artwork by Toyste Beach, who rendered the Magnetic Pokémon with a sharp, industrial aesthetic characteristic of the EX-era holofoil treatment.
