Manaphy-EX

Manaphy-EX was released in the 2016 Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion BREAKpoint, a set centered on the mechanics introduced during the XY series. As a Mythical Pokémon introduced in the fourth generation, Manaphy was featured here as a Rare Holo EX card, a classification denoting cards with higher health points and more powerful attacks that grant the opponent two prize cards upon being knocked out. The card was designed to be a utility-focused asset for water-type decks due to its Ability, Aqua Tube, which allows any Pokémon with a water energy attached to it to have a retreat cost of zero.

The card features artwork by Toyste Beach, a long-time illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game known for a vibrant, digital art style. Beach’s illustration depicts Manaphy in a dynamic, underwater-themed pose consistent with the visual standards of the EX era, emphasizing the creature's flowing, translucent aesthetic.
