Patrol Cap

Patrol Cap, numbered 191/197, was released in 2023 as part of the Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion titled Obsidian Flames. This set focuses on the Terastal phenomenon, which was introduced in the Scarlet and Violet video games, allowing Pokémon to take on a crystallized appearance and altered typing. As an item card within the Trainer category, it serves a functional role in gameplay by allowing players to search their deck for specific cards, reflecting the utility-focused design characteristic of Trainer cards in the modern era.

The visual design of the card leans into the standard aesthetic of the Scarlet and Violet block, utilizing clean, modern graphical overlays that emphasize the item's utility. Like many uncommon cards in the set, it was illustrated to be functional and readable for competitive play, featuring a utilitarian depiction of the in-game headgear. It was received by the player base as a standard support piece, valued primarily for its specific mechanical utility during matches rather than as a centerpiece for aesthetic collectors.
