Roseanne's Research

Roseanne's Research was released in 2009 as part of the Pokémon Trading Card Game POP Series 8 set. These sets, titled after the Pokémon Organized Play program, were promotional releases distributed primarily through organized play events, league rewards, and promotional blister packs rather than traditional retail booster boxes. The set was designed to supplement the existing competitive landscape during the Diamond & Pearl era, providing players with accessible utility cards.

The card features an illustration by the long-time Pokémon artist Ken Sugimori, known for his definitive character designs and watercolor-influenced style. The card depicts the character Roseanne, a recurring trainer from the Sinnoh region games, in a functional pose that aligns with the card's mechanic of searching the deck for Basic Pokémon. While not a high-rarity chase card, it became a staple utility piece in many competitive decks of the period due to its efficiency in setup, reflecting the design philosophy of the era that prioritized deck consistency.
