Sandaconda V

Sandaconda V, numbered 184/192, was released in the 2020 Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion titled Rebel Clash. This set drew heavily from the Galar region introduced in the Pokémon Sword and Shield video games, aiming to showcase the new generation of Pokémon and the Gigantamax mechanic. As an Ultra Rare variant, this card features a unique full-art aesthetic that distinguishes it from standard mechanical cards within the expansion, focusing on the character's desert-dwelling, serpentine design.

The illustration was created by artist PLANETA Igarashi, who is well-known in the community for a distinct, high-fidelity 3D rendering style often utilized for V and VMAX cards. The design intent was to capture the imposing, coiled presence of Sandaconda, emphasizing its rugged texture and grounded earth-type qualities. Upon release, the card was received as a standard competitive and collector piece, noted for its specific holographic foil treatment and the inclusion of the then-new V mechanic, which prioritized high hit points and powerful abilities in the gameplay meta.
