Released in November 2006 as part of the EX Dragon Frontiers expansion, this card showcases the unique Delta Species mechanic that defined the late EX era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. During this period, the card game introduced Pokémon that had shifted their natural typing due to exposure to electromagnetic waves on the mysterious Holon region, explaining why this traditionally Ground/Dragon type creature appears as a Psychic type. The artwork was illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita, one of the most prolific and celebrated artists in the franchise’s history, who utilized his characteristic painterly style to depict Vibrava in a dynamic, hovering stance.

The Dragon Frontiers set was highly regarded for its focus on dual-type Delta Species Pokémon and its inclusion of rare gold-star cards, which made it a centerpiece for collectors of the era.
