Where it came from
Released in 2007 as the inaugural offering from Leena Music, Enduro Disco marked a significant debut for the label, which was established as a subsidiary of the renowned Berlin-based techno imprint BPitch Control. Holger Zilske, a veteran of the electronic music scene known for his work with the duo Smash TV, crafted this release to define the label’s sonic identity, which sought to bridge the gap between atmospheric house and the driving energy of the era’s minimal techno scene.
The record is characterized by a sleek, mechanical aesthetic that reflects the austere club culture prevalent in Berlin during the mid-2000s. Zilske’s approach focused on layering subtle, rhythmic textures with punchy, digitized percussion to create a sound that felt both futuristic and club-ready. Upon its release, it was well-received within European dance circles for its polished production and served as a foundational building block for the reputation Leena Music would build as a platform for refined, detail-oriented house music.
