Es-Soulamia (Cheikh Mahmoud Aziz)- Ya Saad Men Zar Ennabi Oua Emcha Leh + Allahouma Sali Oua Salem

Released under the En'nagham label, this recording features the ensemble of Cheikh Abdelaziz Ben Mahmoud performing traditional Sufi music. These pieces are deeply rooted in the liturgical and devotional traditions of North Africa, specifically within the context of the Soulamia tariqa, a brotherhood known for its focus on dhikr and spiritual remembrance. The record serves as a sonic archive of the vocal and instrumental textures essential to these communal religious gatherings.

The recording highlights the traditional instrumentation and call-and-response structures characteristic of Moroccan devotional music. The production aims to capture the authentic, rhythmic energy of the ensemble's performance style, prioritizing the preservation of the sacred poetry and melodies passed down through the brotherhood. Historically, such records were produced to bridge the gap between private, ritualized performances and the broader listenership interested in the cultural heritage of the Maghreb.
