The Saphir label, a budget-conscious division of the German Intercord company, released this recording in 1977 as part of its effort to make classical repertoire accessible to a broader audience. Featuring the New Classical Philharmony under the baton of George Randolph Warren, the album pairs two of George Frideric Handel's most celebrated orchestral works: the Music for the Royal Fireworks, originally composed for an 18th-century outdoor celebration, and the Alexander's Feast Concerto.
