Where it came from
Released in 1970, Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! captures the Rolling Stones during their landmark 1969 American tour, which marked their return to live performance after a three-year hiatus. The album features a legendary setlist recorded primarily at Madison Square Garden in New York, documenting the band's transition into their gritty, blues-rock prime alongside the arrival of guitarist Mick Taylor. The cover art, featuring a photograph of drummer Charlie Watts with a donkey and a guitar, was taken by David Bailey and remains one of the most iconic images associated with the band's late sixties era.
The Liming Record release (LM-2377) represents a specific slice of international distribution history for the album. As a regional pressing, it reflects the global demand for the Stones' music during a period when the band's management was navigating complex international licensing agreements. While the audio remains true to the original Glyn Johns-produced concert mix, such pressings are valued by collectors for their unique manufacturing characteristics and their role in bringing one of rock's definitive live albums to wider audiences across the globe.
