Where it came from
Regayov was released in 2003 on the Mikrolux label, a German imprint known for its exploration of minimal techno and experimental electronic soundscapes. The album represents a specific period in early 2000s European electronic music, characterized by a move toward increasingly abstract, micro-textured compositions that favored rhythmic precision over traditional melody.
The record was produced by Holger Flinsch, an artist noted for his methodical approach to synthesis and sound design. Flinsch sought to create an immersive sonic environment, stripping away extraneous elements to focus on the granular quality of his electronic arrangements. Upon its release, the work was noted by enthusiasts of the minimal movement for its stark, disciplined aesthetic and its alignment with the refined, understated production standards synonymous with the Mikrolux catalog.
