Sings Folk Blues For Appalachian Dulcimer And Guitar

Released in 2009 on the independent Top Magic Records label, this recording serves as a modern exploration of traditional American folk music. Elizabeth Butters crafted the album to showcase the specific timbral interplay between the Appalachian dulcimer and the acoustic guitar, drawing from a repertoire that emphasizes regional storytelling and historical preservation. The project emerged from a desire to maintain the intimacy of field recordings while utilizing contemporary production standards to capture the nuances of her instrumentation.

The album's design and arrangement reflect a minimalist approach, focusing entirely on the technical dexterity and vocal delivery required for traditional folk arrangements. As a debut or early-catalog entry for the boutique label, it represents a niche commitment to acoustic roots music. The record has been received by enthusiasts of the folk revivalist tradition as a sincere effort to document the enduring versatility of the dulcimer within a structured solo performance format.
