Stacy Dorning

Released in 1974 on the Scratchy Records label under catalog number CHR 1070, this record is a scarce entry in the 1970s pop landscape. The release serves as a documentation of Stacy Dorning’s foray into music during a period when she was primarily recognized as an actress in British television. The project reflects the common industry practice of the era where prominent television personalities were often tapped for studio recordings, aiming to capture the interest of a broader broadcast audience.

The production leans into the light, melodic arrangements characteristic of mid-70s easy listening and pop-folk crossover styles. While the record did not achieve widespread commercial success upon its release, it remains a notable item for collectors of television-star discography and niche 1970s British pop. Its design and execution were typical of independent-leaning labels of the time, focusing on a personal, accessible sound that prioritized Dorning’s vocal presence over complex arrangements.
