Summer Nights = Noches De Verano / Rock 'n' Roll Party Queen

This 7-inch single was released in 1978 as part of the promotional campaign for the film adaptation of the stage musical Grease. It features 'Summer Nights,' a signature duet performed by stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, paired with the track 'Rock 'n' Roll Party Queen' by Louis St. Louis. The release capitalised on the immense popularity of the film's soundtrack, which dominated global charts throughout the late 1970s and became a cultural touchstone of the disco and post-disco era.

The production and arrangement of these tracks were helmed by music industry veteran John Farrar, who served as Olivia Newton-John’s long-time producer. His goal was to capture the nostalgic, high-energy essence of 1950s rock and roll while refining it for a modern pop audience. Upon its release, the single was widely embraced by audiences and critics alike, cemented by the film's box office success and the undeniable chemistry between the two leads, which helped solidify the song as an enduring standard of pop cinema.
