Where it came from
Released in 1991 on the FFRR label, this record represents a pivotal moment in the crossover between Chicago house music and the burgeoning UK rave scene. Richie Rich, a key figure in the house movement, collaborated with the legendary producer Ralphi Rosario to reimagine the track, creating a high-energy house anthem that captured the rhythmic intensity and infectious optimism synonymous with early nineties club culture.
The production philosophy behind this remix focused on maximizing dancefloor appeal through sharp, percussive arrangements and the sophisticated layering of synth stabs that defined the Rosario signature sound. As an FFRR release, it benefitted from the label's significant influence in bridging underground electronic music with commercial chart success, ultimately becoming a staple for house DJs across both sides of the Atlantic.
