Where it came from
Released in 2013 on the Laminar-Wavy Records label, Won't Forget You serves as a notable entry in the catalog of Nini Maluks and Sonja. As the inaugural release under the LAW001 catalog designation, the record captures the experimental and independent spirit defining the label's early vision. It emerged from a period of shifting collaborative landscapes in niche electronic and soul-infused circuits, aiming to blend atmospheric production with vocal-led melodies.
The design and artistic direction were focused on establishing a distinct identity for Laminar-Wavy’s debut. By pairing the ethereal vocal stylings of the artists with a minimalist aesthetic, the creators sought to emphasize a sense of intimacy and lo-fi warmth. Upon its release, the record was received by listeners as a thoughtful, understated introduction to the duo's sound, carving out a small but dedicated space within independent underground music circles.
