Where it came from
Zvuk Za Zrak was released in 1988 as a humanitarian project by the collective known as RI Band Aid. Orchestrated during a period of rising environmental awareness, the record was produced to support efforts to combat air pollution in the city of Rijeka, which had been suffering from the adverse effects of heavy industrial activity. It served as a localized response to the global trend of star-studded charity singles that characterized the era.
The record features contributions from prominent musicians within the Yugoslav rock scene, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the time. By leveraging the popularity of local rock icons, the project aimed to draw public attention to ecological degradation while raising funds for mitigation initiatives. The release is remembered primarily as a testament to the community-driven activism of the late 1980s music scene in Rijeka.
