Altergeist Memorygant

Altergeist Memorygant was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2021 Brothers of Legend booster set. This set was designed to bring a collection of highly requested cards from the Japanese OCG (Official Card Game) to Western audiences, focusing on support for various fan-favorite archetypes. As a Link-4 monster, Memorygant serves as a powerful boss monster for the Altergeist strategy, which centers on controlling the field through traps and shifting monster effects.

The card's design features the signature cybernetic aesthetic of the Altergeist archetype, characterized by translucent, ghostly circuitry and robotic limbs. Its release was intended to provide Altergeist decks with a reliable way to finalize games, capitalizing on the high attack power and recursion abilities that define the deck's late-game presence. It was generally well-received by competitive players who appreciated its ability to boost its own attack and recover from the graveyard, though its high summoning cost required careful resource management.
