Archfiend Cavalry

Archfiend Cavalry was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the 2014 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, which served as a compilation set featuring cards previously released in the Judgment of the Light and Shadow Specters booster sets. As a DARK Fiend-type monster, it fits into the long-standing Archfiend archetype, a series that has been part of the game since its early years. Its design and mechanics focus on synergy with other Archfiend cards, providing a specialized utility that reflects the broader thematic evolution of Fiend-type decks during the early 2010s.

The card was designed to support the Archfiend playstyle by enabling graveyard recovery, a tactical element common to the mid-era design philosophy of the game. Like many cards in the 2014 Mega-Pack, the illustration features the distinct, aggressive aesthetic associated with the Fiend faction, characterized by sharp silhouettes and infernal motifs. Upon its release, it was regarded as a useful, budget-friendly inclusion for players looking to bolster their Fiend-based strategies rather than a centerpiece card, finding its place primarily among enthusiasts of the specific archetype.
