Ashoka Pillar

Ashoka Pillar was released as part of the Maze of Millennia booster set in early 2024. This set was designed to introduce a collection of cards that had previously only appeared in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series, providing players and collectors with long-awaited cards that had remained unprinted for years. The card is categorized as an effect monster, and its inclusion in this set reflects Konami's ongoing strategy of revisiting historical source material to bridge the gap between television canon and the physical card game.

The design of Ashoka Pillar draws heavy inspiration from the historical Ashoka Chakra and the iconic stone pillars erected by the Emperor Ashoka in ancient India. As a card within the Maze of Millennia set, its aesthetic follows the established visual language of the series, characterized by intricate, weathered stone motifs that signify its ancient theme. The card received moderate attention from the community, primarily among those interested in the historical and cultural motifs that occasionally surface in the game's broader card art catalog.
