Provenance

Where it came from

Astellar of the White Forest was released in 2024 as part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion set, The Infinite Forbidden. This set introduced the White Forest archetype, a series of cards centered around a fantasy-themed narrative involving spellcasters and synchro mechanics. The card was designed to support the playstyle of the archetype, which focuses on recycling spell and trap cards to facilitate high-level plays.

The artwork for the card features the distinct, intricate fantasy aesthetic associated with the modern era of the game, characterized by highly detailed character designs and vibrant color palettes. As a Secret Rare, the card is distinguished by a holographic, diagonal foil pattern that is highly sought after by collectors for its rarity and aesthetic appeal. Upon its release, it was well-received by competitive players who integrated the archetype into existing meta-game strategies.
