Automatic Laser

Automatic Laser was introduced in the 2009 trading card set Raging Battle, a booster expansion released during the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s era. The set drew heavily from the themes of the animated series, focusing on Synchro Summoning mechanics and the introduction of new monster archetypes like the Blackwing support cards. As a common trap card, it was designed as accessible utility, meant to provide players with a situational method for dealing damage or interacting with the opponent's board state within the fast-paced meta environment of the late 2000s.

The card features artwork consistent with the industrial and high-tech motifs prevalent in the 5D’s card designs. While the mechanical aesthetic was typical of Konami’s visual direction at the time, the card itself did not attain the competitive prominence of the set's flagship cards. It remains a representative artifact of the era's design philosophy, where the developers frequently populated common rarity slots with niche technical traps to flesh out the tactical depth of the game for casual deck builders.
