Provenance

Where it came from

Back to the Front was originally released in the 2017 set Code of the Duelist before being reprinted as a rare in the 2018 Mega-Tin Mega Pack. Designed for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, it functions as a trap card that allows a player to special summon a monster from their graveyard in face-up defense position. The card was crafted to offer players a reliable way to recycle resources during either player's turn, making it a staple utility card in various control-oriented decks of the era.

The card's design reflects the strategic focus on graveyard interaction prevalent in the modern era of the game. Its artwork depicts a classic battlefield resurrection theme, consistent with the card's mechanical ability to revive fallen units. Within the competitive community, it was received as a solid, versatile option for players needing a defensive recovery play, particularly valued for its ability to bypass certain restrictions found on other revival effects.
