Black Tyranno

Black Tyranno was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Shadow of Infinity set before being reprinted as an Ultra Rare in the Dark Revelation Volume 2 compilation set. Released as a dinosaur-type effect monster, its design was intended to synergize with dinosaur-focused archetypes by offering a unique ability to attack directly if the opponent controls only defense position monsters. This strategic utility captured the aggressive spirit of dinosaur decks prevalent in the mid-2000s meta-game.

The card features artwork consistent with the series' high-fantasy industrial aesthetic, portraying the titular beast in a menacing, armored stance. As part of the Dark Revelation series, this card served as a way for Konami to reissue sought-after cards from earlier expansions, allowing players to access competitive staples in a consolidated format. It remains a recognizable piece of mid-era card design, noted for its specific tactical niche rather than universal competitive dominance.
