Blockman

Blockman was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the original structure decks, later appearing in the Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants set released in 2013. Designed to emphasize the mechanical and rock-type archetypes, the card features an effect that allows a player to tribute it to special summon multiple Block Tokens. This mechanic was intended to provide players with quick defensive utility or fodder for tribute summons, reflecting the strategic emphasis on board presence during the early-to-mid era of the game.

The artwork for Blockman depicts a stylized, geometric construct composed of modular stone components, fitting the aesthetic of the Rock-type monsters often associated with earthy, structural designs. In the context of Battle Pack 2, which focused on limited-format drafting and high-power gameplay, the card served as a common utility piece. It was well-received by players looking for reliable defensive options in draft environments, serving as a functional, if modest, example of the card game's ongoing focus on monster-token interaction.
