This specific structure deck was themed around the character Marik Ishtar, the primary antagonist of the Battle City arc in the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime, and focused on his dark, tactical approach to dueling. The reprint allowed players easier access to a highly strategic card that had remained a centerpiece of deck-building theory for years due to its enduring efficiency and tactical utility.
