Borrelsword Dragon

Borrelsword Dragon debuted in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the 2019 set Battles of Legend: Hero's Revenge. The monster is part of the 'Borrel' archetype, which was introduced in the VRAINS era of the franchise and centers on themes of gun-barrels and heavy, industrial machinery. Its design, characterized by a metallic, draconic aesthetic, reflects the series' shift toward high-speed, technical link-summoning gameplay.

Upon its release, the card quickly became a staple in competitive play due to its powerful ability to attack twice and its inherent protection against monster effects. While the artwork was designed by the Konami internal studio responsible for the series' visual direction, its reception was primarily defined by its utility; it was widely regarded by the community as a game-ending finisher that necessitated significant strategic consideration from opponents during duels.
