Bujin Mikazuchi

Bujin Mikazuchi was introduced as part of the Shadow Specters booster set, which debuted in the TCG in late 2013. The card belongs to the Bujin archetype, a group of Light-Attribute Beast-Warrior monsters inspired by Japanese mythology. The design theme focuses on the Shinto solar deity Amaterasu, with Mikazuchi specifically drawing influence from the Japanese thunder god Takemikazuchi, fitting the set's aesthetic of blending traditional folklore with futuristic, armored motifs common in modern card game design.

The card was released as an ultra-rare variant, a rarity tier characterized by its glossy holographic text. Within the Bujin strategy, Mikazuchi serves a utility role by allowing players to search for Bujin spell or trap cards upon certain triggers. Upon its release, the card was notable for its distinct art style, which prioritized sharp, angular armor plating, a signature look developed by the Konami design team to distinguish the Bujin lineage from other contemporary archetypes in the game's competitive landscape.
