Card Trader was originally released in the Machina Mayhem Structure Deck in 2010. This deck was designed to showcase the Machina archetype, a series of Earth-Attribute Machine monsters known for their synergy and graveyard-focused strategies. As a Continuous Spell card, Card Trader was included to provide players with a consistent way to manage their hands, allowing them to cycle through their deck in search of the specific components needed to assemble the high-level Machina boss monsters.
