Cardcar D

Cardcar D was originally introduced in the Galactic Overlord booster set in 2012, designed to serve as a high-risk, high-reward engine for defensive or combo-oriented decks. The card's mechanics force the player to sacrifice their normal summon and end their turn immediately to draw two cards, a powerful effect balanced by the mandatory loss of momentum. This design reflects an era of the game where resource management and card advantage were prioritized over rapid board presence.

The YS17-EN016 printing appears in the 2017 Starter Deck: Link Strike, which served as the official introduction of the Link Summoning mechanic to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Including this card in the deck provided newer players with a classic example of utility-focused monsters that emphasize preparation and strategic draw power, maintaining its role as a common staple for players looking to stabilize their hands in the early stages of a duel.
