Catapult Warrior

Catapult Warrior first appeared as a core piece of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Trading Card Game era, specifically designed to support the franchise's introduction of Synchro Summoning. As a Level 5 Synchro monster, it was engineered to provide players with a strategic way to sacrifice board presence for direct damage, reflecting the high-stakes, aggressive gameplay styles popularized by the protagonist Yusei Fudo in the accompanying anime series.

The card was released in the Star Pack 2013 set as a common variant, aimed at making staple tactical tools accessible to a wider audience of players. The design prioritizes the mechanical interaction between its ability to launch itself at an opponent and the resulting burn damage, a common design motif for warrior-type machines in this set. While not a centerpiece of competitive meta-play, it remains a recognized example of the utility-focused monster designs common to the 2013 promotional releases.
