Chimeratech Overdragon was first introduced in the 2006 booster set Power of the Duelist. Designed as a pivotal fusion monster for the Cyber Dragon archetype, it reflects the high-stakes mechanical aesthetic of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX era. Its design emphasizes overwhelming offensive output, requiring the player to banish all Machine-type monsters from their field to the graveyard to determine its original attack and defense, a mechanic intended to reward players for building a specialized deck.
