Cyber Raider

Cyber Raider was originally released in the early 2000s as part of the Magic Ruler expansion set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Its inclusion in Dark Revelation Volume 1, a comprehensive reprint set released in 2005, allowed players easier access to cards from previous eras. The card reflects the mechanical, futuristic aesthetic prevalent in early machine-type monster designs, emphasizing the game's shift toward cards that could actively interact with and disrupt an opponent's field setup.

The card was designed to capitalize on the increasing importance of Equip Spell cards in the meta-game, featuring an effect that allowed the player to destroy one equipped card and gain life points. While it never became a staple in competitive play, it remains a recognized example of the utility-focused monster designs that characterized the early expansions, intended to provide strategic counters for players building decks around card-specific interactions.
