Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi

Dakki, the Graceful Mayakashi was released in the 2018 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game booster set Hidden Summoners. This set introduced the Mayakashi archetype, a group of Zombie-type monsters themed around the folklore of the yōkai—specifically the concept of spirits that animate or possess objects or bodies. The design draws heavily from Japanese ghost stories, where the Mayakashi monsters are depicted as undead beings that undergo multiple transformations, mirroring the recursive nature of their gameplay mechanics.

The artwork for the card features a spectral, multi-tailed figure that embodies the graceful yet eerie aesthetic central to the Mayakashi theme. As a Secret Rare in the Hidden Summoners set, the card features a distinctive diagonal foil pattern that distinguishes it from common and rare prints. Upon release, the card was immediately recognized by competitive players for its essential role as a tuner monster, which serves as the primary engine for enabling the archetype's signature 'synchro climb' strategy.
