Where it came from
Dark Bribe was released as a promotional card for the 2007 Konami video game Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force 2 for the PlayStation Portable. The card served as a high-value incentive for players to purchase the title, featuring the Super Rare foil finish that was highly sought after by competitive players during the GX era.
The card's design features artwork illustrating a shadowy, hooded figure extending a gift to an opponent, perfectly encapsulating its functional role: allowing the opponent to draw a card in exchange for negating a spell or trap. Konami’s design team balanced this powerful disruption effect with a deliberate drawback, establishing it as a staple counter-trap that remained relevant in competitive play for many years.
