Dark Catapulter

Dark Catapulter was released in 2006 as part of the Duelist Pack: Jaden Yuki set, a specialized expansion designed to mirror the deck composition of the protagonist from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series. The set was created to provide players with easier access to cards featured in the show, specifically those associated with Jaden’s evolving strategy. As a common rarity card, it served as a utility piece intended to bolster the pack's thematic representation of the show's early duels.

The card's design features an original illustration consistent with the aesthetic of the GX era, which leaned heavily into a mix of mechanical and elemental monster types. Like many cards of this period, the mechanics focus on specific board interactions—in this case, rewarding the player for successfully destroying an opponent's monster. While the card did not reach the competitive ubiquity of staple cards from the same era, it remains a notable example of the supplementary cards produced to expand the lore and utility of the central character’s deck.
