Dark Horus

Dark Horus was introduced as a part of the Phantom Darkness booster set, released in the West during the early 2008 period of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set is widely regarded by collectors as a pivotal release that shifted the game's meta-game toward the Dark attribute, building upon the thematic foundations established by the earlier Elemental HERO Evil and Destiny HERO archetypes. The card was designed to capitalize on the high-aggression playstyle of the era, offering a powerful recurring special summon ability that rewarded players for aggressively utilizing Dark-attribute monsters.

The visual design of Dark Horus draws heavily from the aesthetic established by the Horus the Black Flame Dragon series, reimagining the iconic draconic figure through a dark, ethereal lens. The Ultimate Rare printing features a textured, debossed foil finish that highlights the intricate scales and crystalline details of the monster's armor. While its competitive utility was often debated due to the specific conditions required for its graveyard revival, the card remains a sought-after piece among collectors of the Phantom Darkness set for its striking artwork and the prestige associated with its higher-rarity foiling.
