Dark Scorpion - Meanae the Thorn

Dark Scorpion - Meanae the Thorn was first released in the 2002 Japanese set Magician's Force before appearing in the English TCG within Dark Revelation Volume 1 in 2005. As a core member of the Dark Scorpion archetype, the character was designed to emphasize a tactical, rogue-like playstyle centered on disrupting the opponent's board and replenishing resources from the graveyard. The archetype is visually distinct for its thematic portrayal of a villainous, underworld-themed group, drawing on classic fantasy tropes of stealth and sabotage.

The card's design and illustration reflect the high-fantasy aesthetic characteristic of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game during its mid-2000s expansion. As a common rarity in the Dark Revelation reprint series, the card was intended to be widely accessible to players looking to complete thematic decks rather than a high-value collector's piece. The mechanical design of the card, which allows for the retrieval of other Dark Scorpion cards, established it as a necessary utility piece for those committed to the group's specific synergy-based strategy.
