D/D Necro Slime

The D/D Necro Slime was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the 2016 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, which served as a compilation set for the cards released in the previous year's major booster sets. It was designed to support the D/D (Different Dimension) archetype, a deck theme popularized by the character Declan Akaba in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V animated series. This card was specifically engineered to facilitate graveyard recursion and Fusion Summoning, allowing players to banish it alongside other D/D monsters to bring powerful boss monsters onto the field.

The aesthetic of the D/D Necro Slime leans into the archetype's signature fusion of gothic, industrial, and demonic motifs, which aimed to distinguish the deck from more traditional creature-based themes in the game. As a common rarity card in the 2016 Mega-Tin, it was highly accessible to the general player base, making it a functional staple for competitive and casual duelists alike. It was well-received for its synergy within the D/D engine, effectively serving as a primary tool for resource management and maintaining momentum during mid-game exchanges.
