D/D Savant Copernicus

D/D Savant Copernicus was released in 2017 as part of the Pendulum Domination Structure Deck for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This deck was designed to showcase the complex D/D (Different Dimension) archetype, a series of monsters based on historical figures and mythological entities, intended to demonstrate the versatility of the Pendulum Summoning mechanic. The design reflects the archetype's thematic obsession with celestial and intellectual history, reimagining the Renaissance astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus as a high-tech, armored spellcaster.

The card was illustrated to fit the sleek, industrial aesthetic synonymous with the D/D set, which often uses metallic blues and deep purples to convey a sense of dark science. As a common rarity card, it served as a functional piece of competitive utility, providing players with a reliable way to manipulate the graveyard for complex combo sequences. It was received by the player base as a staple support card, valued more for its strategic versatility in engine building than for its artistic scarcity.
