Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive

Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the mid-2000s, specifically within the Soul of the Duelist set. As a member of the Machine-type archetype, the card drew inspiration from the aesthetic of classic industrial-age steam engines fused with fantastical, armored designs. Its core mechanic, which allows players to draw a card upon being flipped face-up, quickly established it as a staple for deck consistency and board presence during its era of competitive play.

The Speed Duel: Scars of Battle version, numbered SBSC-EN032, was released in 2019 as part of the Speed Duel format, which streamlines traditional gameplay for a faster, more accessible experience. This super-rare variant utilizes the iconic artwork originally produced for the game's Japanese origins, maintaining the dark, metallic color palette that defines the Dekoichi design. The card is widely appreciated by collectors and players alike for its dual utility as both a defensive wall and a reliable card-draw engine within the structured environment of the Speed Duel series.
