Desperate Tag

Desperate Tag was released in the Duelist Pack: Yusei 3 booster set, which hit North American markets in 2011. This set was specifically designed to capture the spirit and deck-building aesthetics of Yusei Fudo, the protagonist of the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's animated series. The card was created to provide support for the Synchro Summoning mechanics central to the 5D's era, specifically targeting decks that rely on keeping monsters on the field despite the inherent risks of direct attacks.

The card features an illustration intended to depict a high-stakes moment of defensive strategy within the context of Turbo Duels. As a common rarity card in the set, it was intended as a functional utility piece for players looking to bolster their back-row options. While it did not alter the competitive landscape, it remains a recognized example of the support cards Konami produced to tie the card game experience closely to the narrative beats and character strategies found in the 5D's television show.
