Provenance

Where it came from

Dice Re-Roll was released as part of the Dark Crisis booster set in 2003, a pivotal expansion in the early Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game era that introduced many iconic cards and archetypes. As a common trap card, it was designed as a thematic utility piece intended to interact with the game's coin-flipping and dice-rolling mechanics, which were more prevalent in the experimental card design of the early 2000s.

The card’s illustration reflects the whimsical, high-stakes aesthetic typical of the game's early sets, focusing on the literal act of manipulating chance. While it saw limited competitive play due to its reliance on luck-based mechanics compared to more consistent defensive traps, it remains a nostalgic artifact for long-time players who remember the set's transition into the more complex tactical environment of the time.
