Disciple of Nephthys

Disciple of Nephthys was introduced in the 2018 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion Hidden Summoners. This set was designed to bolster specific archetypes, and it significantly expanded the Nephthys theme by introducing Ritual Monsters and associated support cards to a lineage that previously centered around the original Phoenix of Nephthys. The card was created to serve as a key searcher for the archetype, facilitating the ritual summoning process by thinning the deck and ensuring consistent access to high-level monsters.

The artistic direction for the Nephthys archetype draws heavily from Egyptian mythology, reimagining the deity of the same name within the game's high-fantasy aesthetic. Disciple of Nephthys features intricate, ornate armor and wind-swept iconography that reflects the theme of avian rebirth. Upon its release, players and collectors noted the card for its utility in competitive play, as its ability to search for Ritual Monsters made it an essential component for any duelist committed to the Nephthys playstyle.
