Dreiath III, the True Dracocavalry General

Dreiath III, the True Dracocavalry General was introduced as part of the Maximum Crisis expansion set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2017. This card belongs to the True Draco archetype, a series defined by a complex lore involving the resurrection of draconic entities and the utilization of continuous spell and trap cards as tribute fodder for high-level summons. The design reflects the overarching aesthetic of the set, emphasizing a brutal, high-fantasy military theme that integrated seamlessly with the established mechanics of the era.

The card was designed to support the specific True Draco playstyle, which sought to shift the game toward utilizing backrow cards as strategic resources. In the competitive landscape of the time, the True Draco deck became a dominant force due to its consistency and ability to disrupt opponents during their own turns. Players and collectors recognized Dreiath III for its specific mechanical utility within the archetype, and its Ultra Rare status in the Maximum Crisis release solidified its position as a staple piece for enthusiasts of that specific meta-game period.
