Drowning Mirror Force

Drowning Mirror Force was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game in the 2015 set Breakers of Shadow. It was designed as a modern, more punishing evolution of the classic Mirror Force trap card. While the original version destroyed attack-position monsters, this iteration was crafted to bypass destruction-immunity effects by shuffling all attacking monsters back into the owner's deck, a significantly more powerful form of removal that prevents many graveyard-based recursion strategies.

The card was included in the 2017 Legendary Dragon Decks as part of a reprint initiative aimed at providing players with accessible staple cards. Illustrated with the signature dramatic flair typical of the series, the artwork depicts a mystical vortex claiming the field, reinforcing the card's function as a defensive 'reset' button. It became a staple in casual and mid-tier competitive play due to its ability to instantly dismantle an opponent's board presence when timed correctly during an attack.
