Electric Lizard

Electric Lizard was released in the Metal Raiders booster set, the second main expansion of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the West, which debuted in 2002. As a common monster within this set, it helped flesh out the early library of cards available to players navigating the foundational mechanics of the game. Its design reflects the aesthetic of the series' early years, focusing on elemental themes and straightforward, creature-based combat mechanics that defined the initial competitive landscape.

The card was designed as part of Konami’s effort to adapt the Japanese OCG cards for a global audience. The artwork features a distinct monster design characteristic of the era's card illustrations, which were overseen by Kazuki Takahashi’s studio. While Electric Lizard was not a centerpiece of professional deck building, its inclusion in the Metal Raiders set was a functional addition for players seeking to utilize Light-attribute monsters during the game's formative period of expansion.
