Evil Thorn

Evil Thorn was released in the 2009 expansion set Raging Battle, an installment in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game that focused on introducing Synchro Monsters and support for the Blackwing archetype. As a low-rarity common card, it was designed primarily as a functional tool for deck builders, specifically intended to facilitate rapid field presence by allowing the player to tribute it to summon additional copies from the deck.

The card's design features a dark, botanical aesthetic typical of the game's creature-heavy card art from that era. While not a centerpiece of the set, the card gained lasting utility in competitive play due to its ability to thin the deck and provide fodder for effects requiring tributes or specific monster counts. It remains a representative example of the utility monsters that define the mid-era history of the game.
